O Christmas Branch
Dec 19, 2011 11:51
I’ve know my friend Lisa for half my life. She is like a sister. This year, she introduced me to a great Christmas decorating idea. Lisa is of Scandinavian heritage, and told me how her grandmother always brings a bit of the outdoors inside at Christmas to help decorate the house.
Lisa showed me an amazing picture of a Scandinavian Christmas branch. A simple branch that was decorated with beautiful ribbon and the loveliest Christmas ornaments, then hung in a part of the house without any other decorations. I was in love with the idea.
I convinced my husband Matt to cut a branch from one of our plum trees in the front yard. I liked the idea of trying to use nature to decorate it, but alas, I used nature inspired glass ornaments. I only spent $14 on getting my Christmas branch up and decorated this year. I was so glad to find pretty, but budget ornaments to hang.
It was a fun project Matt and I worked on this weekend. I thought I’d share it with you.
Merry Christmas! Love and Peace to you and yours,
Elizabeth
